Duopody SportsFlex , for Sports Injuries

Duopody SportsFlex is a unique and innovative approach to Reflexology; it provides a specific and specialist treatment, not only to the injury site but also to the entire myocontinuum fascia within the whole body (chains of muscle, connective tissue, cartilage, ligaments, nerves, tendons etc). With this technique any tension, associated or referred pain that manifests in other areas of the body may be relieved. In addition, the reflected zones for common sporting injuries have been mapped onto the feet and these areas can be targeted and specific therapy applied. Duopody SportsFlex includes treating the reflected adrenal glands as well as the lymphatic/immune system to maximize the body's natural pain relief, innate self-repair and healing capacities. To aid the elimination of toxins and drainage of lymph, attention is given to the urinary and circulatory systems.

The duration of the first treatment session is one and a half hours and includes a comprehensive health consultation plus completion of a Duopody SportsFlex questionnaire. Frequency and duration of further treatments is decided mutually, after the first session and is designed to meet the individual needs of the client.

Palliative Care and Reflexology

Many Cancer Hospitals and Hospices in the Cardiff and Vale of Glamorgan area employ Reflexologists as an important part of their complementary therapy teams. They help adults and children alike, who are undergoing aggressive cancer treatments, are living with cancer, or are in remission. Care Homes for the Elderly also recognise and acknowledge the part Reflexology has to play, in making people's lives more comfortable.

Conventional Duopody Reflexology sessions can be adapted if you are in palliative care, using a feather light touch if required. Treatment length will be dependent upon how you respond to touch and your individual needs. Another advanced technique can be employed, namely CALM (Caring Attention Leading to Mollification) which is an extremely soothing, relaxing method of re-balancing energy in the feet.

The intention of the Duopodist is to improve a sense of wellbeing and it may make the side effects of cancer treatment manageable. It really is a wonderful, complementary therapy.

Maternity Care

Pregnancy can be one of the most special times in a woman's life. Her body changes in subtle ways at first and as the weeks go by; the miracle of creation inside her grows.

These changes are governed by the endocrine system (hormones) and there are changes in Oestrogen and Progesterone levels. These hormonal changes are designed to ensure the pregnancy remains viable and nurtures the baby until he or she is ready to be born at 40 weeks gestation.

A woman's whole body may be affected by physical ailments during pregnancy. As Duopody Reflexology treats systemically and therapeutically, the intention is to re-balance all the systems in the body. Therefore, it may be beneficial for a woman to have a course of regular Duopody treatments throughout pregnancy.

During the first 12 weeks of pregnancy, a very gentle, light touch, and shorter therapy would be advisable. However during the 2nd trimester, full treatment sessions can be offered. In the last 3 months, short sessions once a week, will incorporate lots of relaxation techniques, CALM technique and special attention paid to any reflected areas causing discomfort.

so Come and relax, enjoy this special time

Fertility & Conception

As well as making certain positive lifestyle changes, such as eating a healthy diet, taking regular exercise, having adequate sleep and increasing water consumption, Duopody Reflexology should be considered for both parties in preparation for pregnancy. Reflexology theories suggest that by improving blood circulation throughout the body, and encouraging the elimination of toxins, this may enhance fertility. By pressing the points on the feet that reflect the endocrine system (hormones) and the reproductive system (uterus, ovary, fallopian tubes, testes, vas deferens) blocked energy pathways in the body are released, thus enabling the body's natural balance to return. Advanced, deep tissue techniques such as ART may be used on certain areas, if necessary. The Duopodist will pay special attention to the reflected spine, as vertebral imbalances causing spinal nerve compression, may affect the functioning of the reflected organ, gland or part of the body. Duopody is also an excellent aide to relaxation, which alleviates stress and tension so that the body is in the best possible condition for conception to occur.

women's health

If you are suffering with any hormonal imbalance e.g. mood swings, very heavy periods, irregular periods, pre-menstrual syndrome/tension, the peri-menopause or post-menopausal issues, then Duopody Reflexology may well help to relieve these distressing symptoms.

The whole Endocrine system (hormones) may be re-balanced via treatment on the directly reflected areas on the feet, thus bringing about homeostasis (balance), a potential improvement in symptoms, and a sense of wellbeing is restored. Migraine sufferers often find a link with their headaches and menstrual cycle, so by re-balancing the hormones, symptoms may be reduced considerably, if not completely eradicated.

Duopody Reflexology not only rebalances the physical body, it also works deeply on the emotional and spiritual aspects of life and often helps clients to prioritise, re-focus and deal with stressful situations.

Briefly, Reiki is an ancient method of "healing" or energy medicine, and it roughly translates as "spiritual air". As a Reiki II practitioner, I have been attuned by a Reiki Master to receive universal healing energy and this can be channelled through my hands either directly onto the body or hovering just above.

Theory suggests that Reiki energy boosts the body's own innate healing capacity. As you might think, a ReikiFlex treatment is part Reflexology and part Reiki.

Imbalanced areas on the feet are identified and treated first, followed by Reiki on the body. It is an extremely relaxing, therapeutic treatment in which the benefits of Reflexology and Reiki combine to offer another dimension to complementary therapy.
